FONTIBON



Is located the northwest of the city, is the number nine locality in Bogota, it has eight zonal planning units, is an important transport center and handles much trade in Bogota.

Fontibon is characteristic for having the transport terminal in Bogota, the dorado airport and it is also considerable to note that this place has many factories and warehouses including the frank zone of Bogota. as a curious fact the name Fontibon means powerful captain and derived from the word “huntia” in indigenous language, with the passing of time was called Hontibón, ontibón and finally Fontibon its current name.
CULTURAL AND SOCIAL EVENTS FOR RECREATION
  • WORLD WETLANDS DAY: 
The journey begins with the cleaning of ‘’humedal del say’’. it is does in February. This activity generates awareness in the inhabitants to about of care of this places and your important.


  • BIKE RIDE, PEDALING HYINTIBA MY STORY MY TOWN:

It begins in month January, where the inhabitants leave their houses for to cross the locality.


  • SUNDAY IN FAMILY PROGRAMMING
The families gather in the park of Fontibon for activities theater, recreation, puppets and other activities that all families of locality can enjoy all Sundays.


  • INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
With the district secretary of woman and the local mayor of Fontibon this celebration is done. this day is celebrated with a recovery of public spaces considered dangerous for the women, they are made tours, services haircut with beauty day made by transgender women of the community, street art and many more activities.
  • CYCLE RIDE FONTIRUEDA NIGHT

It is a night of cycle ride through the city and beyond to encourage responsible use of the bicycle. through of tours, the people take the territory to incite safety and culture in via pedestrian.


  • FESTI PARKS
There are recreational activities and cultural that take place on weekends in the parks of the district system in Fontibon , this event receives many people in the day among them many families and visitors that involved finally is important to say that the entry is free and free.


  • INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY
It activity has done in Fontibon for some years, we can find different types of dance like salsa, tango, folclore, capoeira, freestyle and others. in this activity involved 9 important companies around the city.

  • MALOKA:

It is a subterranean interactive center created in 1998 for colombian association for the advancement of science and consisting in a mixture between science and technology that give life to this place in this there are different showrooms where the physics, technology and science are fun and dynamic, it has 300 modules, a dome cinema and many activities for perform.







  • HOUSE OF CULTURE:

It is a construction of colonial style which it is very representative in the history of the locality, its origin dates of 1610 and is heritage of community. nowadays is a center of community participation, provides information of recreational and cultural activities and in this place the people addresses issues of political and cultural rights.

  • THE GIRALDA PUBLIC LIBRARY:

It is a beautiful library which offers many schedules to enjoy activities of reading, writing and arts. it has different rooms, for adults, children, research, loan of books etc. it was inaugurated in 2000 and it is part of the network of public libraries (biblored), it has a simple construction but very cozy.



  • SHOPPING CENTER GRAN ESTACIÓN

Shopping center Gran Estacion was founded on 2006, shopping center is a 5 bigger of the city. it's located in avenida el dorado nº 62 - 47. there we can find all types of shops and also it have a business center, the most their workers are persons in conditions of discapacity.





  • SAUZALITO PARK

This park was inaugurated in October 1997, is located between Maloka and college agustiniano, the park have different activities for people of this sector and others, the Sauzalito park have pool, tennis courts, skating courts, soccer field, playground, and others, people have had access free since its inauguration.





  • MUSEUM AEROSPACE OF COLOMBIA
Is located in airport el dorado, base aerial catam , maeco was founded in 1967 but in 1999 was created the new headquarters in Fontibon, this museum have a big collection of legacy the aviation Colombian. people can see different kind of planes and equipment for these. the entrance is free and all type public can enter.
